We are no different from any other local community resource where volunteers & trustees are key.
So if you are interested in helping out to enable us to open more frequently in a chilled & laid back environment at High Mead Farm then please Click here to submit a volunteer application.
I am also looking for trustees to help take us to the next level & save even more people money & reduce even more carbon & waste!

Since May 2023 we have been of service to the communities of Wimborne, Ferndown, Colehill, Verwood and their adjoining Parishes, totally free of charge.
The concept was devised to help our members save money and reduce the carbon footprint of our community by Borrowing Not Buying tools that we may only use now and again, or having to hire trades people while they could now DIY it, if they have the right tools.
As we know, from a DIY perspective, most tools are used only a couple of times in their lifespan, so, by providing a repository where You would never have to buy the tool and store it forever afterwards. Borrowing is better than hiring or buying. However, due to the nature of tool running costs/overheads, investment and renewals, from the 5th April 2025 we will be changing from the DIY-Library to a totally rebranded DIY Depot of Tools and sadly having to transition to a low-cost Membership fee model.
We continue to stock a growing number of tools and appliances available to assist You with your DIY projects and jobs, large and small:
- Building, Painting, Plastering and Decorating
- Electrical
- Garden
- Household
- Metalwork Tools
- Mobility Aids
- Motoring
- Plumbing
- Woodworking
- General
Having been running as a totally free “Community Initiative Project” we require funds to pay the bills and invest in new, better and wider range of tools. Everything you see or hear about the DIY -Library has been totally free of charge brought to You by the DIY-Library Team. Everything has been created by us, no partnerships or monies from 3rd parties, whatsoever…done by us, and still is.
